TOX AFTERCARE
We want to see those results!
Jen recommends within each personalized treatment plan a two week follow up appointment post treatment. Some follow up appointments include touch ups to ensure results are on-par with the patients/practitioners expectations. Please note if a touch-up is needed we will charge for the additional units.
While you’re showing off your Beauty keep in mind the following information:
+ If you can, try to exercise your treated muscles for the first hour after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting). These exercises help to work the treatment into your muscles post procedure. You should avoid rubbing the treatment area post procedure.
+ Do not have a facial, or massage right after the treatment. Treat yourself to one of these services 1-2 days after your treatment.
+ Do not lie down or do strenuous exercise for three hours after treatment. Also, avoid any exposure to a sauna, hot tub or tanning for four hours.
+ Please be aware that some, though very few patients, experience a mild headache. You may take Tylenol to help with this for pain relief.
+ Be assured that tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours after your treatment. There is a small risk of bruising. If this occurs, do not worry since it will only be temporary and can easily be covered up with makeup. Any little bit of bruising may last up to one week.
+ After the injections are placed into the targeted muscles, the weakening effect gradually begins anywhere from 3-7 days and is not complete for two weeks. Therefore, optimal results are not seen 10-14 days post treatment.
+ Your injection will last approximately 12-14 weeks. If you follow the treatment plan as prescribed, the duration of each treatment may last longer than four months.
+ It’s always important to remember that Tox builds gradually and works through your body gradually. So remember when planning your appointments it will take 10-14 to go into affect, and 12-14 weeks to wear off.
Filler AFTERCARE
+ The most common reactions to dermal fillers included; redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness after the injections. These usually subside a few days after the treatment, however these reactions could last up to a week. If any of these symptoms persist longer than a week, or if you develop other symptoms, please contact us.
+ Cold compresses may be used after the treatment to reduce swelling and decrease soreness - please use this post treatment in 10 minute intervals. You may take Tylenol (if not contraindicated) every 4-6 hours after the treatment to help with any discomfort you may have.
+ Make-up may be applied 12 hours-24 hours after treatment
+ In the first 24 hours following treatment, limit exposure to sunlight or UV lamps. Extensive sun or heat exposure and alcoholic beverages may cause a temporary increase in redness, bruising or swelling at the injection sites. If there is persistent swelling or redness after the injections, you should limit exposure to sunlight or UV lamps until these symptoms subside (for at least 5-7 days). If sun exposure is unavoidable, use a sun block with an SPF of 30 or greater, combined with zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide.
+ Patients should avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours to prevent moving the filler or increasing blood flow to the face.
+ Avoid taking aspirin (unless medically necessary) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba , St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E for 5 days after the treatment, as these may cause an increased risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection sites.
+ Avoid excessive touching or massaging to the treated areas for about 6 hours after the injections. Patients can wash the treated area with a gentle cleanser.
+ Try to avoid putting pressure on the areas where filler was used - I.E. while sleeping. Sleeping on your back with head elevated is preferred.
+ Avoid dental procedure (including cleaning) 2 weeks post filler
Your satisfaction is our priority, we ask patients to return for a follow up 2-4 weeks post treatment. At that point we will listen to your feedback and we will determine if a touch-up is necessary. If follow up treatments are necessary, there will be additional charges at the regular rate. Additional costs of medical treatment would be patients’ responsibility should complications develop after dermal filler procedure.
